Dear Faculty and Staff Members,
This issue of Gender Equality Issue focuses on “Power-Based Sexual Assault and Silent Bystanders.” We hope to guide all faculty, staff, and students to reexamine the challenges of sexual autonomy under power imbalances, and to consider how every bystander, peer, teacher, supervisor, and institutional actor can become a supporter rather than a silent accomplice that allows harm to continue. We believe that a safe campus is built through every act of willingness to listen, believe, report, and assist. Only when we break the culture of silence together can victims have the opportunity to recover with protection and respect, and only then can the campus truly become a trustworthy place for learning and living.
